February 15. 2005, the 7th day of the Chinese New Year, is also known as everybody"s birthday. In traditional China, individual dates of birth were considered of secondary importance. Instead, everyone would add a year to their age on the 7th day of the lunar calendar.

Lunar calendar

The lunar calendar is the longest chronical calendar made by man, dating from 2600 BC. This Chinese calendar names every year after an animal, 12 in total. Legend has it that the Lord Buddha asked all animals to bid him farewell before he departed from earth. Only 12, one rat, one ox, one tiger, one rabbit, one dragon, one snake, one horse, one sheep, one monkey, one rooster, one dog , and one boar acceded to his request.

As a reward for their loyalty, he named a year after them, in the exact order they arrived. After the year of the boar, another cycle would start with the year of the rat, continuing in infinite circles.
